How To Locate/Secure Your Android Phone When You Lost Somewhere Or When Somebody Had Stolen It


              Smartphones have become rage in present generation. Almost all  people are using them. If your time is bad then you will lose your phone with your negligence or some body has stolen from you.

              Now it is possible to locate/secure your Android phone when you  lost somewhere or when somebody had stolen it.




              But this will work only if your phone is registered with gmail account. Of course ,Gmail registration is mandatory in every Android phones.

             By chance your phone is lost, here are few steps that can help you to locate your mobile or to some extent help on securing your data.


#Step1 
Go to Gmail and sign in with your google account (registered Gmail on your lost phone).





#Step2 
Go to My Account Page from your Gmail Account. 




#Step3 

Scroll down you will find option with “Find Your Phone”. Now Press on the “Get Started” button. 




#step4 
you will be asked to select a phone or tablet. So you select the phone/tablet that is lost.




#step5 
Ones you select the phone that is lost, you will be redirected to another                window where there are several ways by which you can secure your  lost device.


Ring or Locate your Phone

            You can make your phone ring to its full volume even if it is muted by pressing on the ring button.



            Press on the Locate button  will display the exact location of phone in google maps by using Android Device Manager.


Check recent Security events for suspicious activity

            If you are worried that your phone has been lost, then it’s better to secure your account. You can change the password of the account by pressing on the something looks wrong button.





Lock Your Phone

              You can set a password to lock your screen, if your phone has screen locker it will be used by default.



               You can write a note to the finder and send a phone number for the finder to contact you.

Try calling to your phone

                 You can call to your phone using Hangouts also.




 Sign out from Gmail Account on your phone

                 Sign out your google account on your lost phone. But you can still be able to ring, locate, lock and erase your phone.

Reach out to your carrier

                         Your carrier can help you by disabling your SIM card, or
Redirecting your calls to a new number

                  This will protect you from identity theft since a finder can use text messages to access your information, send messages on your name, or make expensive calls
                
Consider erasing your device:

                   If you are helpless that your device cannot be found it’s better to erase your device.




                   Erasing device prevents others from copying your contacts and hacking your secure info.
