Google introduced its messaging app Google Allo to the messaging platform.With a couple of new features like smart replies and Googles Assistant, it stands unique from the other messaging apps. But it needs few things to be improved to stay in the strong competition with the other messaging apps like WhatsApp, hike, Telegram, WeChat, Line, Viber, iMessage etc.

Google Allo brings you smart replies by which google gives you some recommended words and phrases according to your conversation to send next. With tons of sticker’s packs, adding a new ink feature to the photos when sending and a cool whisper/shout option that lets you dictate the size of the text you’re sending. Take the help of Google Assistant to get any information fast without opening another app. Use the Incognito mode to send end-to-end encrypted messages.
In addition to these existing features, there are few things that lack in the present version and hope to be added in the next version of the Allo app.
Here is the list, hoping Google Allo can fulfil in the next version of the App.
Integration of Google Duo with Google Allo:
This Integration can help to switch to video call in the middle of the chat without switching the App (i.e. from Allo to Duo) when needed. One single button and a simple tap on it and you are ready to voice call a friend.
Support for multiple devices through web client:
The entire existing messaging apps have multiple devices support. It would be great if Allo adds this feature. Google Allo needs web client. Like WhatsApp’s WebWhatsApp, Google Allo can also have a Web client to add flexibility for the user to send messages from the laptop, PC, tablet, the web etc. whatever may be the device, but its support is essential.
Incognito chat for Groups and Not saving the messages:
The only way of private conversation in Allo is through Incognito mode. This can only provide end-to-end encryption. But Group chatting is not under Incognito and need to add some privacy options. Saving old messages in the servers for prediction of smart replies is not acceptable by many users. Privacy is more important than smart reply. Google can figure out a better way for smart replies. It will be good if old messages are deleted automatically rather than waiting for the user to delete them.
Available for other platforms other than Android and iOS:
At present, Google Allo is Available for only Android and iOS. But not available for all versions of Android mobiles. There are other Operating system mobiles apart from Android and iOS like Windows Phone. It will be better if it reaches all the mobile operating systems.
Should Support for GIF:
Most of the users send Gif Images in these days if Google Allo finds a way to support for Gif images and sharing immediately can benefit the Allo users. Facebook support Gif images very well.
Adding shortcuts to contacts:
Adding shortcuts to the contacts and groups on the home screen would be nice and more customized.
Allow me to send files and documents:
With the existing features in the Allo you can send pictures, videos, audio recordings. It will be great if the user can send files, documents, and music through the Allo.
SMS Integration should Exist:
Integration with SMS is non-existent. Many people use SMS only and a good integration with SMS would encourage many more users to try the app. The iMessage type integration would be perfect.
Data backup should be included:
It is important to backup and transfer existing data while switching numbers. So this important feature should be incorporated.
Quick reply in notifications:
A quick reply from notifications is essential but Google Allo has no quick reply from the notification.
Make Allo the default messaging app:
There is no option of making the Allo as my default messaging app on my phone.
Selecting multiple messages:
Selecting multiple messages in a chat is the feature it is lacking. At present,only one message can be selected.
Need good support for Android wear:
There is no good support for Android wear. This Good support for android wear will allow you to read through your chats and reply to messages.
As of now with the Initial release Google Allo’s some of the features like smart reply and Google Assistant are quite interesting. It needs a bit of Improvement and nothing can be perfect on the first day.
