Step1. Click Windows key + R to open run command.

Step2. Type Regedit in the empty field and press Enter. Press yes on the user account control pop windows that ask permission to allow the app to make changes to your device. Registry Editor opens up.

Step3.Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer.

Step4. Right-click on the empty area and Create a NoRecentDocsHistory D_WORD key. Double-click the value to open it once it is created.

Step5. Set Data value to 1 to enable the restriction. Check the Hexadecimal Base and click OK.

Step6. Close the Registry Editor and Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.


With this, your Recent documents History will be disabled.
