How To Keep Your Mobile Safe At Home Or Especially While Travelling

                          With the growth in technology the vulnerability also increased in the form of hacking. Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Facebook Mark Zuckerberg, Pokemon Jon hanke, Twitter Jack Dorsey all these people are leading heads in technology. But before hackers all these are common men. We have come across hackers in the news these days. They are many stories of victims in the hand of hackers. We may be one among them one day if we neglect. So where ever you are whether at home or whether you’re travelling you must be care full while accessing your mobile phone. Hackers may be anywhere around you. It’s in your hands the precautions to be taken before your control goes in their hand.

                           Now day’s Mobile phone has become the pocket cupboard for our personal details, bank details, business details and other sensitive data. We are uploading our personal pics, videos, functions albums every sensitive data in the phone. All the important data is stored in and we are least bothered about its security. Each mobile phone is vulnerable to risk in the form of hackers. We are using data packs for internet, Wi-Fi and transferring huge amount of data. We are using Bluetooth to connect to other devices (it may be less secured).   We are searching for free Wi-Fi locations. Though prompted insecure Wi-Fi Location, we never care to connect it and use it. Hackers started targeting Mobile phones besides Pc’s. Mobile has become the hacker’s favorite’s target.  Of these android and iPhones are most vulnerable to risk.

                           Of Couse, There is no level by which safety can be measured but we have to follow some tips and tricks that can help you and your mobiles to be safe before hackers or vulnerabilities. 

#1 Turn your Mobile’s Wi-Fi button OFF
                         
                                Your Mobile’s Wi-Fi should be disabled whenever you’re out for quite travel. Accessing Wi-Fi outside is unsafe. Especially when you are offered a free Wi-Fi zone. Using Wi-Fi in this zone is providing direct path to the hackers to enter our mobiles.



#2 Turn OFF your Mobiles Bluetooth

                            Bluetooth is the way for connecting other devices near you. This opportunity can be used by the cyber hackers for grabbing your sensitive data. So it’s better to turn OFF your Bluetooth while you’re travelling or your mobile is not in use.


#3 Always keep your software updated

                    Always make sure that your software is updated. Updating software can fix your security bugs and sealing cracks in the mobile system. Always make sure your software is the latest.


#4 Lock your screen

                   It is always desirable to lock your screen where ever you are. There are many ways of locking your screen. 

                   You can set strong password, PIN for your mobile. You can have swipe option, facial-recognition screen lock (your will get unlock when your camera detects your face). Use of any of this locking system can provide safety for your personal data from unauthorized users. It is advisable to change your password for every 3-6 months.


#5 Use of strong Anti-Virus

                   A strong anti-virus can protect your phone while you are travelling or anywhere. This brings to your notice whether your installing app is trustworthy or not. This prevents from any virus entering your device. It always keeps track of vulnerabilities outside your phone. 



#6 Installing Apps
         
                  It is important to uninstall all the unnecessary apps on your phone because these apps contain data about your personal information. Never install unnecessary app on your phone that asks for personal information.

                   Always do it’s from a trusted source like manufactures app store or website. Before downloading any app it’s better to read all the reviews about the app regarding security threats are there or not.


#7 Turn off Cookies and Auto-fills

                 Cookies is an information that is stored on the server for future use where as auto fill completes data in the browser forms without the user need to type it in full. It is not safe to use auto fills and cookies; this allows hackers to find our full details. To be safe side Turn off cookies and autofill’s.


#8 Turn off location tracking

                 Location tracking gives you a lot of information about your location. It keeps track of your all the places you visited and you can even see these later. But this if gone in to the wrong hand can affect your personal life. So this feature turned off can be safe.


#9 Avoid leaving your phone in public

                    Never leave your phone alone in public places; this can be a chance to others to access to your mobile and your personal data.


#10 Sign Up for Gmail in your Phone

                    A mobile with your Gmail can track the phone even if it is lost or left somewhere. This can be done with find your phone option in the My Account of Gmail. With this you can track your phone, Lock your phone, and give a call to your phone through hangouts, Erase all the data in the phone. This all features can be accessed from your home PC or laptop.


                   There are many ways of vulnerability outside, but it is in your hand to right protect your Mobile. The key to mobile security is staying updated without falling prey to the hackers. Never trust Free Wi-Fi that comes across your travel. Instead you can use pebble your own Wi-Fi device where ever you travel.
