How to Record Your Screen Using A Hidden Feature In Window 10

           There are plenty of screen recorders available on the web stores for Android, IOS and windows. Some of them are paid apps; some of them may be free.

We use these screen recording applications for

             #recording tutorials explaining a particular topic,
             #videos on technical tips,
             #recording games, and
          #preparing videos on How to install an application on smartphone and system, so that others can learn.


          So, with vast usage of screen recording apps there is hunt for recording application sources. But without these, we have a built in feature of screen recording in windows 10 in the form of Xbox app.  It allows us to record a video clip, of up to 2 hours, of your screen.
                   This feature by name Game DVR in Xbox app is meant to record game clips and screenshots of the games you are playing. But with it additional features you can even record a video clips for your projects.
                    So, for recording a project, all you have to do is to open Xbox app. Jump to your project where you have to record and press windows button + G, in the game bar and click on the red button to start the recording, the recorded video file is saved in the Xbox app.

Here is in detail how you can use this app in windows 10.

        # Open Start Menu and Go to All Apps > Xbox.

        # Press Windows + G, then game bar will open.
                          
  If you’re opening for the first time, a pop-up will appear asking you for Do you want to open Game bar? You click on Yes, This is a Game. Do this even if it is not a game.

            # Ones the Game bar is opened just click on the RED button; It will start recording your app window.

                   You can start doing your project that is to be recorded.

             # You can stop recording by pressing windows + G and click on red button. Your video clip will be saved in the Xbox app.

               # If you want to view your recorded video clips,

              You can open game bar by pressing windows+ G and in the left most you will find Xbox icon and click on it.
                                     Or
               You can go to start menu > all apps > Xbox and open. You will find a series of icons on the left side, click on the sixth icon from the top that opens Game DVR, you will find all your recorded video clips.



                # You can edit your video clips with some limited editing features like Trim a Clip or you can rename your video clip with rename option.


                Like every screen recorder, this Game DVR is also limited. You cannot record your entire screen. You can record only one window at a time. But this is helpful if you want to record video clip within an app or window.
