If the problem persists even after the restart, it’s better to reset the router. Resetting the router is completely different from restarting the router.                That is, router reset can result in loss of all the present configuration settings and use factory default settings.

Router reset can be done in two ways:

First way, using factory defaults to reset your router: soft router resets (procedure here is for TP-LINK router)

  • Open the Web Browser, Type IP address or Router’s URL in the address bar of the browser. Login to the router with the username and password (Usually username and password will be available at the back of the router).

  • If the reset button is inside, use a pen tip or bent paperclip if necessary to press the button and hold it down. On the other hand, if it is outside you can directly press with the finger and hold it down.
  • Press this button and hold it down for 30seconds; your router probably does not require waiting for the full length of time, but this is a good rule to follow as suggested by network administrators.
  • After that release the reset button, it may take 1 minute for the router to reboot and resume normal operation.
  • Resetting will set back the routers configurations to factory defaults. After reset, you have to configure manually, the required setting as provided by Network Administrator or Internet service provider.
  • Otherwise, you can recover the current configurations by uploading the configuration file you have saved before the reset.

So with router reset, network connection issues either with the client or with the internet connection can be solved. Now your device can now perform with optimum speed without any disconnection in the mid of important work. Router reset can also be performed when you lost your administrator’s password or network’s wireless security key. Aways be secure while using Wi-Fi with strong passwords and never let others access your Wi-Fi.

It is not recommended to perform the reset button unnecessarily without the network administrator guidance.
Even with the problem persists it's better to upgrade the router's firmware. This can solve many issues regarding the Internet.
