        Router is a device used to allow multiple computers, smartphone to connect to the same network. Router connects to the modem and provides wireless signals at your office or home. Any computer within its range can connect and use broadband internet for free. It works 24/7 providing Wi-Fi signals without any issues. But continually working without any break can also lead to software errors in the Router that leads to disconnection to the internet.

There may be many reasons for the cause of internet disconnection, but your first necessary step is to fix your Internet connection using Router. It is better to be secure while using Wi-Fi and set a strong password to the wireless connection.

         When your internet is not working the first step you should do is to restart your router. 

Steps to restart your Router:

  1. The First step is to disconnect the power to the router and remove all the connections like modem connected to the router.

  • Wait for 30 seconds to ensure complete purge of the RAM.
  • Plug-in the modem cable to the router and reconnect the router to the power.
  • Wait for few minutes, so that the router can completely power back on.
  • Some routers are provided with ON/OFF buttons to do this.
  • Some routers are even provided with a feature to program a schedule to an automatically restart.

             It is advisable to restart your router one’s in a week even if you are not facing any internet connection problems. This will make your internet connection work stable without any issues and can reduce the possibility of losing net connection often.
             Even if there are internet connection issues then you can reset or restore your router to set back the router to factory version and again add current configuration, so that it can work faster.
               But if you are using an obsolete router's firmware it can also cause internet issues. So please if your router needs the firmware upgrade. If needed it very important to upgrade the router's firmware as an important task.
