WhatsApp Is The Most Popular Messaging App; SimilarWeb Survey Revealed It


                  WhatsApp Messenger is a multiplatform instant messaging app that allows you to chat with and call other WhatsApp user. It uses your phones internet connection to chat and call your other WhatsApp User. WhatsApp Messenger is available for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Nokia and Windows Phone. In addition to other messaging app WhatsApp users can create groups, send unlimited images, Audio and Video media messages.


                WhatsApp was founded by Brian Acton and Jan Koum (both former employees of Yahoo!) in 2009. Later in 2014, Facebook acquired WhatsApp for US$19.3 billion, its largest acquisition to date.



                          Recent survey worldwide on messaging apps revealed some interesting features. Survey from analytics firm SimilarWeb by using Android data in 187 countries revealed these facts.

#WhatsApp tops all the messaging apps around the world used by the users.
   The Video calling feature could have boosted the choice of the users.
  
# WhatsApp is currently the world leader, being the most popular messaging app used in 109 countries. Among them India, Mexico, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Europe, Africa, Asia are the top users.

# Among the world population 55.6% of people use WhatsApp Messenger.

# It has 1 billon Active users Every month.

# In India more than 70 million people are using this app.




# Facebook messenger finds a place in the list with second spot after WhatsApp.    America, Canada, Australia are among the 49 countries that use Facebook     with high percentage.

# Third place is occupied by Viber. It is popular in Eastern European countries. It’s the top messaging app in Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine and others. In these countries 65% of people use this app in their android devices.

# LINE, WeChat, Telegram messaging app are used in china, Iran, Japan.

# Once at the top, BlackBerry’s BBM continues to drops its popularity. It only tops in one country Indonesia with 87.5% of installations in Android devices.

      It accounts for about 42.5% of all android devices in U.S, with 1.35% in U.K, and 0.49% in Australia.

# The least dominating apps were KakaoTalk in South Korea, imo in Cuba, ChatOn in Eritrea.
