| Here’s How To Port In Your Existing Mobile Number To Jio? |
This porting of number can be done with Mobile Number Portability (MNP). This MNP was introduced in the year 2015 by Department of Telecommunication (DoT). MNP became available in India from 01 January 2011 and nationally (National MNP) from 3rd July 2015. This switching allows users to keep their mobile numbers even if they switched locations. Due this national-wide MNP, subscribers of Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, and other telecom operators can switching to Reliance Jio and avail the free “Jio Welcome Offer” till the end of the year without changing their numbers.

| Here’s How To Port In Your Existing Mobile Number To Jio? |
Here is the procedure on how to port your existing mobile number to Jio
- Send a message, PORT MOBILE NUMBER, from your mobile number you want to port to Jio, TO 1900.
- E.g: PORT
MOBILE NUMBER and SEND to 1900.
- You will automatically receive a Unique Porting Code (UPC) from existing service provider. This UPC is valid for only 15 days from the date of Issue.
- Download My Jio App from Play Store or App Store and generate offer code.
- Walk into any of the Reliance Digital or Digital Express Mini or Preferred Jio retailer or Prominent multi-brand Jio stores with the Port out the code and Your Jio Welcome Offer Code along with the 4G-enabled handset from which message was sent.
- Complete the Customer Acquisition Form and Porting Form (enter the Unique Porting Code (UPC) correctly on the Porting form).
- Submit a copy of Proof of Address, Proof of Identity and a recent Photograph along with the filled in Customer Acquisition Form and the Porting Form.
- After you submit the relevant document mentioned above, in return Reliance will issue a new Reliance Jio SIM card.
- The new SIM card may take up to 7 days to activate and also you will be charged Rs.19.During the process of porting your existing number will be dead for two hours and starts showing “No Service” message, at the same time your new Reliance Jio SIM gets activated and after that you can put your new Reliance Jio SIM in your 4G-enabled handset to start using it.
- Once the porting process completed and Jio SIM activated and again if you want to change the operator you have to wait for at least 90 days. After that, you can change to any network you want by using Mobile Number Portability (MNP).
