Getting the Jio SIM:
Walk in to any Reliance-owned Digital stores, Digital Xpress, Digital Xpress Mini stores, Modern Trade outlets and prominent multi brand Jio stores across India. These Reliance Jio SIM are available at your Neighbourhood telecom stores as well.
Documents Required:
Carry original and copy of Proof of Address (POA) and Proof of Identity (POI) and one recent passport size photograph. Submit your documents and photograph. Documentation will be done in 10min to 15min.
SIM Activation:
After Documents are verified you will be provided with Reliance Jio SIM. You will receive an SMS saying Activation process has been started asking you to tele-verify your number. After that you have to call to the number they provided i.e. call center number, it is a tele-verification process which is automatic. They will ask you for number from the documents you have submitted. It’s better to have documents with you while you call to the call center numbers to complete the Activation process faster. Activation will be done within hours. For some people it may have taken three to four days, it may depend on case to case.
In some cities eKYC has been started, which means if you walk in with a Aadhar Card you can come out with a verified account and working SIM. This will be done with in 15min.

You can purchase a JioFi device and get “Jio welcome offer” for free. You can avail all the offers and Jio premium apps for free till 31st December 2016.
As a part of this purchase you can select either a prepaid or postpaid Jio SIM as per your requirement. But you have to submit valid Proof of Address (POA), Proof of Identity (POI) and a recent passport size photograph.
After verification of documents you will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number informing that your Jio SIM is ready for tele verification. You have to call to 1800-890-1977 from the alternate number to complete tele verification. Your SIM will be activated and ready for use within one hour of successful tele-verification.
But this Jio SIM can be used to access services on JioFi devices only during the offer period, later after 31st December, it can be used on any 4G smartphone based on your plan benefits.
Third way of getting Jio SIM:

If you can buy a LYF smartphone then you will be given one Jio SIM for every LYF smartphone you buy.
You can visit nearest any Reliance Digital, Digital Mini stores, Modern trade outlets and prominent multi brand Jio stores to get your Jio SIM.
You have to carry original and copy of Proof of Address (POA), Proof of Identity (POI) documents and a recent password size photograph.
After verification of documents completed you will be asked to call 1977 from your Jio SIM to complete the tele-verification process.
