Microsoft induced an extensive collection of fonts with
windows to support users around the world in almost any language. Basic, clean
and legible fonts are used by windows to display menus, dialogs, labels, etc.
These are commonly referred to as UI or “User Interface” fonts. The richest
variety of Windows fonts may be found in fonts for the Latin, Greek and
Cyrillic alphabets, but Windows includes fonts for use with all the major
languages and writing systems around the world.
For instance, you may have foreign language fonts and
other symbol fonts (for example: Wingdings) that you never use.
To delete unwanted fonts from windows, follow these
steps:
1. Type Fonts in Windows search box and select Fonts:

Or Right click on Start menu > Control
Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Fonts.
2. Click on Fonts, you will be directed
to a list of fonts or font family.

3. Select the font or font family you wish to delete.
If you just want one font, it may be listed within a “font family” that you
have to double click to open. For example Rockwell Bold is located within
Rockwell family.

4. Right Click on the font you wish to delete,
click on delete button.

5. Click yes when prompted with a warning
message.
Deleting unnecessary fonts can increase the performance
of windows. But just be careful not to remove any important fonts like caliber,
Microsoft Sans Serif and Tahoma.
